Demo Version 1.27: First Impressions Hotfix


I had planned to let this one cook for a couple more months weeks but of course it turns out the previous version had a really stupid bug slip through so I needed to wrap it up as a small hotfix instead. A lot of these changes are mostly cosmetic stuff for the first level, because I realized the first impressions aren't all that great thanks to how jank some of the old stuff is getting compared to the new additions.

Changes

  • Picking up a Chromosphere now also equips it immediately (since most levels with hidden chromospheres doesn't have a mirror).
  • Cursed King now ignores all terrain during jump attacks so he won't bonk his head on the ceiling anymore and change trajectory without warning, and has an afterimage effect during the powerful jumps that creates shockwaves on landing so you can tell it's coming.
  • Cursed King's targeted laser isn't sometimes bright enough for 1 frame to be a photosensitivity hazard anymore.
  • New supersecret in Chessmaster's Tomb with an easter egg.
  • Cutscenes when you die / time out / clear Chessmaster's Tomb during prologue now reposition you to always be close to Tippy and face left.
  • Added some slopes to the ceiling pillars for a smoother experience during Chessmaster's Tomb escape.
  • Added some new accessories to Salhazaar's store.
  • Removed debug rectangle from moving platforms.
  • Added new platforms to some annoying jumps in Castle Town.
  • Added new blacksmith to Castle Town, who can repair stuff or appraise weapons to give you flavor text or tips on what to do with weapons that belong to sidequests.
