See? I told ya I was gonna get back to updating the game more regularly! UwU
(Okay, you probably can't expect one update every week, but this bug was serious enough I needed to get this patch out ASAP)
List of Changes
- Bugfix: when Analog Input is enabled (the default), having a controller plugged in but using the keyboard makes you unable to move.
- Bugfix: increased jump height a tiny amount because due to collision detection changes, you couldn't jump 6 blocks with a standstill high jump anymore, and that makes some vertical paths very annoying (or almost impossible) to go through.
- Balance tweak: Frie's electric dash attack's melee shockwave now doesn't track you perfectly, so moving around should be enough to avoid it (the electric projectiles tended to trick you into jumping, which moved you close enough to Frie that dodging the followup was impossible sometimes)
- Leaving Frie to die from her wounds doesn't result in a glitched state anymore, and has mostly the same effects as actively killing her (there will be more distinctions later)
- Resized the inventory menu textboxes, allowing slightly longer item names and preventing the food description from covering up the actual graphic of the food.
- Added a failsafe counter to prevent player from being stuck forever in knockback if something (e.g. physics-altering zones) prevents them from landing on the ground, now the state will end prematurely if you've been falling for a couple seconds.
- Tweaks to the system for lifting/throwing, including your momentum carrying over to stuff when you throw it (so if carrying them around is boring you can launch them with running jumps and then run to pick them up) and bounceshrooms bouncing thrown objects / wind hitboxes affecting them to prevent some softlocks if you drop an item halfway through a wind zone
- New level: Breathing Room. This one will really blow you away!
- Bugfix: Fixed a glitched state where Frie's corpse can return even after she dissolves into dust if you return after killing her.
- Bugfix: Leaving Frie to die and managing to escape didn't set the 'you're not trapped anymore' flag which wouldn't technically softlock you, but force you to re-escape the catacombs every time you reloaded the game.
- Bugfix: If Frie dies her crew would still show up in the Bread Ruins hub or a certain easter egg later.
(Yeah, I didn't test the evil routes enough... derp.)
