Epsilon Engraving Engine
A downloadable device for Windows
Make Your Dreams (And Hopes) Come True!
Epsilon Engraving Engine is an educational framework for making Undertale/Deltarune fangames (or unrelated games in a similar style).
It comes with Epsilon Engraving Chapter 1, a full multiple-hour example chapter with tons of cutscenes, battles, areas and items. Follow the parallel story of Levi and Matte as they stumble into the Shadow World, ruled by The Angel, and discover things long forgotten in the darkness... but are they the heroes of the prophecy, or someone else entirely?
Fresh Shoulders to Stand On
Epsilon Engraving Engine DOES NOT use any decompilation or source code leaks, nor any official UT/DR assets. Everything is built from scratch.
Everything is optimized to be easily extended and easy to use. The engine uses recommended best practices for GameMaker Studio v2.3 (the current flavor) like functions, introspection, GUI variables to customize things in the room editor, and enums instead of magic numbers.
Easy systems for ACTs, enemy attack patterns and inventory lets you quickly create the AU of your dreams! If you can't wait until 2026 for your next DR fix, feel free to just play the demo chapter and ignore the source code!
The source code is a Game Maker Studio YYZ file, which should be importable and runnable in any currently available version of GM.

Terms of Use
- Games made with this engine can't be sold commercially. (Even if all EEE assets are custom-made there's just too many obvious similarities to DR - allowing commercial use would get both me and you into trouble)
- While I will try to answer any comments I get, I'm very busy so you risk having to wait a long time to get a response. If you've got urgent programming questions not related to EEE-specific things, please ask in a more active place like the Game Maker discord instead.
- I will NOT answer questions about how to perfectly replicate attack patterns from Undertale/Deltarune. Please try to come up with your own ideas to add to the universe instead.
- If you make something with this engine please credit "Yal" and link back to this engine's webpage.
- Don't repost/reupload the source code elsewhere (the demo is fine to share though)
- Don't use the included sprite/audio assets for unrelated projects.
- Have fun!
